Introducing Down Home Dreams, Inc.
We would like to thank you for your interest in
our company and the designs that we sell. Down Home Dreams and
Embroidery Dreamers are owned and operated by Paula Yagisawa and
Louisa Childs. We opened DHD in 1995, working out of our homes.
In 1998 we had grown to the point where we had to move into our
current offices. We are a small company that we run as a family
(even our husbands help). As a small company, we try to help the
other small companies in this field; both the home run craft
companies, and the small retail shops.
We strive to provide our customers with quality
designs made specifically for the small home embroidery machines
and we encourage their use for resale items as well as for
personal use.
We are always looking for fresh, new ideas, and
look forward to hearing suggestions from our customers.
Paula
Yagisawa is the President and Co-owner of DHD. Paula has a BS in
Elementary Education, which really shows in her manuals, and
teaching skills. She has been involved in sewing, arts and
crafts her entire life and uses these skills to bring to life
many of the children's designs DHD produces. Her love for hand
embroidery and the Japanese hand crafts combine to make her
reproductions of hand embroidery and quilting designs have the
look of hand work. Paula is married with three children, Tanya,
Jonathan and Thomas. Her husband, Takefumi, is a computer
engineer and does much of our programming.
Louisa
Childs (Lou) is the vice president and co-owner of DHD. She has
an Associate Degree in German which is good for absolutely
nothing, and a long career in business management which has been
utilized greatly in this endeavor. Lou combines her 40 years
experience in sewing, crafting, and painting to create the
intricate detail shown in her thread art. She is married with
three children, Paula
(president of DHD), Marcus and Eric (who both also hold
positions with the company). Her husband, Dale, is a computer
engineer and does some of DHD's programming and helps keep the
hardware running.
